Your Rights
As a person using AskMedix, you have the right to:
- Respectful, unbiased care. To be treated with dignity regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, or background.
- Qualified guidance. To receive responses only from credential-verified, board-certified physicians.
- Clear information. To have medical concepts explained in plain language, including the limitations of online guidance.
- Privacy and confidentiality. To have your health information protected and never sold or shared for advertising.
- Access and correction. To view, export, or request deletion of the personal data we hold about you.
- Decline and withdraw. To stop using the service or withdraw a question at any time.
Your Responsibilities
To help us help you safely, we ask that you:
- Provide accurate information. Share complete, honest details about your symptoms and history.
- Understand our scope. Recognise that AskMedix offers education and general guidance — not diagnosis, prescriptions, or emergency care.
- Seek in-person care when needed. Follow advice to consult a local clinician, and never delay urgent care while waiting for a response.
- Communicate respectfully. Treat our physicians and staff with the same courtesy we extend to you.
In an emergency
AskMedix is not for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, or any life-threatening symptom, call your local emergency number immediately.
